TSCM America® Technology
Responding to the most critical technical surveillance threats and mitigating the risks is our mission.
TSCM America® utilizes the highest grade of technologies and processes to combat the threat and more importantly the detection and discovery of technical eavesdropping devices. These threats come from all forms of transmitters whether concealed, covert, or overt. Technology is ever changing with Bluetooth®, WI-FI, and with the “Internet of Things” IOT. Our company has the technical equipment, training, and skilled analysts needed to ensure and protect your privacy.
Spectrum Analysis & full Demodulation
Evaluating your risk is vital to maintaining your business and personal privacy, security and peace of mind, and the risk of electronic eavesdropping should be a big part of your organizations overall risk management prevention strategy.
Many clients have told us that they in the past, had a wait and see approach towards communication privacy, meaning all is good until sensitive information surfaced that only could have been heard through technical eavesdropping.
More and more clients are taking the proactive approach vs waiting for bad news to knock at the door with a communications breach. We’re an extension of you in terms of a 3rd party, unbiased, and independent reaching a conclusion.
Technology is the Key!
High-grade or often times referred to government grade technical spectrum analyzers that have the ability to receive and capture “free space” RF frequency transmissions and allow the technician to demodulate each signal. This allows for RF signal detection and identification of real-time frequency analysis. All frequencies are analyzed and determined to be friendly or a potential threat such as open audio, video, cellular, or other transmissions that can be identified and located. The RF spectrum must be analyzed with a spectrum analyzer capable of covering a wide range of the frequency spectrum. Our equipment is capable of detecting carrier current devices on power lines as well as demodulation sub-carrier transmissions. Sophisticated techniques such as frequency hopping, spread spectrum, and video transmissions are only possible to detect and demodulate with a government grade spectrum analyzer.
Additional functions include RF signal capture and RF mapping that is useful on return visits to use as baselines to spot immediate threats.
Threat Identification Detection
A Non-Linear Junction Detector (NLJD) is technically a microwave transmitter and receiver, designed to detect all transistors, diodes and other semiconductor devices which are found in transmitters, tape recorders, microphones, electronics, and other eavesdropping devices. The NLJD is the only type of instrumentation that can successfully detect all radio transmitters, regardless of their transmission frequency, even if the devices are powered off.
Without the NLJD, the TSCM service would be unable to detect tape recorders, hidden microphones, remotely controlled transmitters, ultrasonic, infrared or microwave transmitters and other hidden devices which may be embedded in the walls, ceilings, or furniture and possibly beyond the detection capability of other test equipment. TSCM America® uses these devices as part of our inspection process.
Evaluating your Risk is Vital to Maintaining your Business and Personal Privacy, Security and Peace of Mind, and the Risk of Electronic Eavesdropping
Driven by Technology
Telecommunication threats are very real and TSCM America® has the technology to perform tests and analyze all types of phone systems from analog, digital, and VoIP.
Our technology incorporates many types of telephone line tests including common tests such as voltage, current, resistance, and capacitance tests, as well as NLJD, FDR Frequency Domain Reflectometry, and Digital Demodulation technology into a single piece of equipment. Additionally, our technology utilizes an automatic internal pair switching matrix to automatically perform tests on all pair combinations. The ability to perform several different tests allows the user to compare the results of multiple tests on multiple phone lines, quickly identifying any potentially threatening anomalies.
TSCM America® applies many different technologies within each project to ensure the threat is detected. They include;
- Broadband RF Receivers
- Thermal Imaging Technologies
- IR Detection
- Power Meters
- POE Monitors
Protecting Your Privacy is our Only Business!
TRUSTED by Fortune 500 Companies and Government Agencies
Thermal Imaging is used by the TSCM America® technician to detect areas in the environment with suspicious heat signatures (hot spots) that may indicate anomalies caused by active eavesdropping devices that are generating heat or structural elements, including structural modifications that are used or created to secrete an eavesdropping device, such as a wall activity, ceilings, or within objects.
Infrared Imaging will allow the TSCM Technician to observe Infra-red (IR) blooming commonly emitted by optical eavesdropping devices that may be secreted in the area. These optical eavesdropping devices may include live feed as well as recording video cameras. Infrared Imaging is able to identify a spectrum of light that cannot normally be seen with the naked human eye.
TSCM Physical Inspections
During the physical search our TSCM Technicians will use miscellaneous tools and test sets to assist with locating and identifying eavesdropping devices. This is the most important, very tedious, and important part of our TSCM sweep. During the physical inspection the following tools and devices will typically be used, including our proprietary technology and experience:
- Physical and Electronic Probes
- Audio Probes
- Audio Preamps
- Audio Amplifiers
- White Light and Black Lights
- Directional and Forensic Lighting Sources
- Handheld inspection mirror
